In the video posted below, Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: FB) CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said that Instagram is going to start testing non-fungible token (NFT) integrations this week.
“We’re starting building for NFTs not just in our metaverse and Reality Labs work, but also across our family of apps,” said Zuckerberg in the video via Coindesk. “We’re going to bring similar functionality to Facebook soon.”
The blockchains that are supported include Ethereum and Polygon with Flow and Solana coming soon. And the third-party wallets compatible for use at launch will include Rainbow, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet, with Coinbase, Dapper, and Phantom coming soon.
Plus Meta is also working on 3D, augmented-reality NFTs with the Spark AR software, which will first be compatible with Instagram Stories.
