Meticulous raised $15 million in Series A funding to expand its software testing platform as AI coding tools accelerate the pace at which developers generate code. The round was led by Chemistry, with additional participation from Menlo Ventures.
Angel investors included former Stripe executive Lachy Groom; Poolside co-founder and co-CEO Jason Warner; Dropbox co-founder Arash Ferdowsi; former Adobe Chief Product Officer Scott Belsky; Vercel founder Guillermo Rauch; Segment founder and former OpenAI engineering lead Calvin French-Owen; Hex CTO Caitlin Colgrove; and former Cursor Head of Engineering Jason Ginsberg, who is now a Member of Technical Staff at xAI.
Meticulous is developing technology intended to address a growing bottleneck in AI-assisted software development: while AI agents can generate code increasingly quickly, testing and reviewing those changes can slow deployment.
The company provides an autonomous testing system that automatically creates and maintains thousands of user flows designed to cover edge cases across large software codebases.
Meticulous uses deterministic browsers and automated test generation, execution, and maintenance to reduce noise while identifying how software changes affect applications.
The platform can detect changes as small as a single-pixel difference across recorded user flows before code is shipped to production.
Its technology also gives engineers, product managers, and designers visibility into how proposed changes affect software before those changes are merged.
AI coding agents can use the same information to iterate on their own work before submitting it for human review.
Customers include Notion, ElevenLabs, Dropbox, Wiz, and LaunchDarkly.
KEY QUOTES:
“We’re moving into an era where code generation is relatively inexpensive, but that means code review and the feedback loop become the bottleneck. Meticulous helps us simultaneously move fast and raise the quality bar.”
Zach Davis, Director of Engineering at LaunchDarkly
“We piloted the tool, were immediately impressed and rolled it out across the entire engineering organization. Meticulous is unlike anything else, developers love it and it is now an essential guardrail of our software development process.”
Erdem Alparslan, Head of Developer Experience at Notion
“As we move closer and closer to truly exhaustive testing we’ve observed that this allows our customers to move at unprecedented speed. We’re excited to take the platform to the next level to allow another step change in velocity for our customers.”
Quentin Spencer-Harper, CTO of Meticulous
“Meticulous has built one of the most deeply loved products that I have come across in my eighteen years of investing.”
Ethan Kurzweil, Managing Partner at Chemistry
