Metric Point Capital has appointed Jamaine Cook as Principal, adding the former RCP Advisors investment professional as the firm expands its GP solutions and secondaries advisory capabilities.
Cook joins Metric Point after five years at Chicago-based RCP Advisors, a private equity firm focused on the North American lower middle market.
At Metric Point, Cook will focus on identifying and structuring liquidity solutions for general partners and limited partners across private market strategies.
Those strategies include buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, private credit and infrastructure.
His work will have a particular focus on the lower end of the private markets, an area Metric Point believes remains underserved by advisory providers.
For general partners, Cook will advise on continuation vehicles and other solutions addressing liquidity requirements as funds approach the end of their lives.
For limited partners, his responsibilities will include helping investors seek liquidity from existing fund interests and co-investments.
At RCP Advisors, Cook worked as an investment professional underwriting secondaries, continuation vehicles and co-investments.
He earned an MBA with concentrations in finance and private equity from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Earlier in his career, Cook worked in transaction advisory services at KPMG alongside private equity investors.
Before entering finance, Cook played running back in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns.
Metric Point said Cook’s addition follows its recent hiring of Paul Mazurek, who brings about a decade of direct investment experience from firms including Insight Equity and Stellex Capital.
