Michael Baker International announced that Marin Pastar, AIA, NCARB, has joined the company as Digital Practice Executive. In this role, Pastar will lead digital transformation and digital project delivery for the company’s Integrated Design and Advisory (IDA) business vertical, overseeing Digital Practice resources across the firm’s architecture and engineering teams and market sectors including data centers, industrial, aerospace, aviation, transit and federal markets.
The company said Pastar will work closely with enterprise technology leadership to strengthen digital platforms, data ecosystems and digital capabilities while advancing innovation in Digital Twin technologies, smart building systems and lifecycle intelligence. His responsibilities will include helping clients modernize infrastructure portfolios and improve performance, resiliency and connectivity outcomes.
Pastar brings more than two decades of experience in Digital Twins, smart infrastructure, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) ecosystems and enterprise digital transformation. His background includes global strategy development, digital delivery leadership and the development of workflows integrating simulation, cloud platforms and intelligent asset lifecycle management.
Before joining Michael Baker International, Pastar worked at Jacobs, where he most recently served as Global Principal, Digital Twins, Digital Advisory & Transformation. In that role, he led the strategy, development and global delivery of the company’s Digital Twin initiatives. During his tenure at Jacobs, he also held leadership positions including Digital Delivery Director, Americas Cities & Places; Global Principal, Digital Twins; and Global Technology Leader, Vertical Information Modeling. Earlier in his career, he held multiple leadership roles at Bates & BatesForum (Clayco), eventually serving as Principal, Technology & Innovation.
Pastar earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Drury University.
