Micron Technology announced a strategic agreement with Anthropic focused on scaling next-generation AI infrastructure. The collaboration spans memory and storage AI architecture design, a supply agreement, enterprise adoption of Claude across Micron, and a strategic investment in Anthropic’s Series H funding round.
Micron said the agreement connects the demands of frontier AI models with how infrastructure is designed, supplied, and deployed at scale.
At the center of the collaboration is work on memory and storage technologies designed to improve how AI systems are built and scaled. Micron’s portfolio includes high-bandwidth memory, DRAM, and SSDs that support AI training and inference workloads.
Micron and Anthropic plan to analyze how memory and storage subsystems perform across different workloads and interact across the full infrastructure stack. The companies said this work is expected to drive improvements in memory and storage performance, energy efficiency, and token economics in Anthropic’s AI infrastructure.
The companies also entered into a memory and storage supply agreement covering Micron’s data center portfolio. The agreement is designed to support Anthropic’s multi-year growth trajectory as the company scales its compute strategy.
Micron has also deployed Anthropic’s Claude models company-wide to support coding and more advanced agentic use cases across engineering, manufacturing, and enterprise functions.
Alongside the technology collaboration and supply agreement, Micron made a strategic investment in Anthropic’s Series H round, reflecting the companies’ shared focus on building infrastructure for the next generation of AI.
KEY QUOTES:
“The AI revolution has permanently elevated the role of memory and storage solutions from the data center to the edge. Micron’s strategic collaboration with Anthropic brings together the industry-leading capabilities of both companies to innovate and scale next-generation AI infrastructure.”
Sumit Sadana, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Officer at Micron
“Our compute strategy depends on getting every layer of the stack right, and memory and storage are central to how efficiently we can train and serve Claude. Partnering with Micron means we collaborate closely on optimizing these systems for our workloads and secure the supply we need. As demand for Claude grows, this is how we scale our compute for the long term.”
Tom Brown, Co-Founder and Chief Compute Officer at Anthropic
