Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced it has hired Tom McGuinness as the Corporate Vice President of Global Healthcare, according to CNBC. McGuinness will be overseeing Microsoft’s healthcare division, which is especially crucial during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. This division fosters Microsoft’s relationships with hospitals, health insurance companies, and life sciences companies.
McGuinness previously worked as the president and CEO of GE Healthcare’s Imaging unit. This GE Healthcare Imaging division accounted for about $10 billion in revenue for GE.
McGuinness is not Microsoft’s only major recent hire for its healthcare unit. In August 2019, Microsoft hired David Rhew, M.D. as Chief Medical Officer & VP of Healthcare of its Worldwide Commercial Business (WCB). And Gregory Moore MD, PhD was hired as Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Health in April 2019.
