Microsoft recently announced the Surface Pro 7, which is a detachable tablet computer that was launching alongside new Microsoft Surface Laptops and the Surface Pro X this year. This article includes an overview of the Surface Pro 7 specs and the Surface Pro 7 pros and cons.
Pro: Jump In Processing Power
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 7 has a jump in the processing power. Now it uses Intel’s 10th generation Core series processors in Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7.
Pro: Wi-Fi 6 Support
Microsoft added Wi-Fi 6 compatibility in the Surface Pro 7. Wi-Fi 6 delivers 4 times the capacity of Wi-Fi 5.
Pro: USB-C And USB-A Ports
The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 has a USB-C port. This is a big deal for those of you who prefer USB-C for charging devices and connecting accessories. But for those of you who prefer older USB ports, you can still use USB-A on the Pro 7.
Pro: Elegant Kickstand
The design of the kickstand on the Surface Pro 7 makes it easier to navigate while you are on-the-go. And it is capable of nearly 180 degrees of stability and many different angle options.
Pro: Solid Keyboard And Pen Stylus
The clip-on keyboard (sold separately) is better than ever before. And the Surface Pen Stylus (sold separately) has been drastically improved compared to last year’s model.
Con: Minor Updates From Pro 6
Microsoft did not change the Surface Pro device much this year compared to last year’s Surface Pro 6. But this is a device that resonates with consumers as Microsoft’s Surface sales have been increasing every year.
Con: Battery Life
A number of reviewers have complained about the battery life of the Surface Pro 7. In several tests, it has shown that Surface Pro 6 has better battery life. In some cases, the Surface Pro 6 had 2 hours of more battery than its successor. While this may not seem that different, the extra 2 hours of battery life in the previous version would be essential for those of you who often travel overseas by plane.
Pulse 2.0 Score
Surface Pro 7 has received a Pulse 2.0 score of 4.5 out of 5 stars. The Surface Pro 7 is arguably the best detachable tablet computer on the market today. But if Microsoft added more innovative features this year, then I would have given it 5 out of 5 stars.
