The Coalition technical director Mike Rayner has revealed that the Microsoft Series X version of Gears of War 5 loads about four times faster when the exact same code is used for the new console and the Xbox One, according to IGN. Gears 5 is a third-person shoot game developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
It’s worth mentioning that Gears 5 was originally developed for the Xbox One so other games may not see the same results. But it does give us an idea about the rough benchmarks.
Rayner also pointed out that the upcoming console exceeded all his expectations. Specifically, Rayner was excited about the major I/O improvements.
The Xbox Series X is expected to be released in November 2020. And Gears 5 will be available at launch. If you have already bought the game for the Xbox One, then you can upgrade for free on the new console.
