Micross Components, a global provider of high-reliability microelectronic products and services for aerospace, defense, space, medical, and industrial applications, announced the appointment of James J. The announcement was made by Behrman Capital, the private equity firm that owns Micross. The leadership transition comes as the company continues to expand its position in high-reliability microelectronics and pursue strategic growth across defense, aerospace, and other mission-critical markets.

Cannon brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across global defense, security, and industrial businesses. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AM General, a manufacturer of military and commercial tactical vehicles. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer of FLIR Systems, where he led the company through a strategic transformation and its eventual sale to Teledyne Technologies. Earlier in his career, Cannon held senior leadership roles at Stanley Black & Decker, including President of Stanley Security for North America and Emerging Markets, and also worked at Eaton Corporation.

Beyond his executive roles, Cannon serves on the boards of the Association of the United States Army and Hexcel Corporation, and is also an advisory board member for Ouster.

Cannon is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served for ten years as an infantryman and armor officer. During his military service, he deployed to Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, and peacekeeping operations in Bosnia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Micross provides advanced microelectronic solutions designed for high-reliability and mission-critical applications. Its portfolio includes semiconductor components, die and wafer services, advanced packaging, and test solutions used across aerospace, defense, space, medical, and industrial sectors.
