Micross Components has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire AEMtec, a provider of advanced packaging, optoelectronics, test and electronic assembly services for high-reliability applications. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026 following customary regulatory approvals.

AEMtec provides services across the microelectronics packaging and integration lifecycle, including product design, prototyping, industrialization, qualification, production and long-term support. Its capabilities include wafer back-end processing, wafer testing, chip-on-board assembly, flip-chip packaging, three-dimensional integration and optical packaging at cleanroom facilities in Berlin and Dresden, Germany, and Boston.

The company serves customers across semiconductors, medical technology, biotechnology, industrial automation, communications, aerospace and defense. Its expertise in miniaturization and precision assembly supports applications in which components must perform reliably despite demanding operating conditions and limited available space. AEMtec’s management team, led by CEO Robert Giertz, will join Micross following the acquisition.

The acquisition will establish Micross’ first scaled operation in continental Europe and complement its existing European facilities in the United Kingdom and Denmark. It will also expand the company’s ability to provide advanced optoelectronic packaging and high-reliability manufacturing services to European customers, including participants in the regional defense industrial base.

The transaction represents Micross’ eleventh acquisition under Behrman Capital’s ownership and its seventh since a continuation fund transaction completed in 2022. Harris Williams is serving as Micross’ exclusive financial advisor, and Goodwin Procter is providing legal counsel.
