Midas: $80 Million Series B Secured For Investment Platform

By Amit Chowdhry ● Aug 21, 2025

Midas, the leading investment platform in Turkey, has completed a significant milestone by raising $80 million in its Series B funding round. The Series B funding round was led by QED Investors, a highly regarded fintech investment fund known for its successful backing of disruptive financial technologies. Several new stakeholders have joined this round, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC)—a member of the World Bank Group focused on promoting investment in developing countries—HSG (which rebranded from Sequoia China), QuantumLight founded by Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky, Spice Expeditions LP, and George Rzepecki. Prominent existing backers, such as Spark Capital, Portage Ventures, Bek Ventures, and Nigel Morris, have continued their support by participating in this latest funding effort, signaling their strong belief in Midas’ potential.

This achievement marks the largest investment ever secured by a fintech company in Turkey, highlighting the increasing interest and confidence in the region’s financial technology sector. With this latest funding, Midas’ total capital raised surpasses $140 million, solidifying its position as a key player in the market.

Midas is dedicated to serving a robust community of 3.5 million investors by offering a comprehensive platform that facilitates access to various investment opportunities, including Borsa Istanbul, U.S. stock markets, mutual funds, and cryptocurrencies—all streamlined through a single, user-friendly interface. With the new funds, the company aims to enhance its security infrastructure, aligning it with international standards, and accelerate the launch of innovative products specifically designed for active traders.

The investors involved in this funding round are noted for their strategic investments in early-stage global technology leaders, including TikTok, Alibaba, Coinbase, Nubank, Revolut, Twitter, and Slack. This record-breaking investment round not only reflects Midas’ potential for growth but also underscores the confidence that international investors have in the company and its pioneering role in transforming Turkey’s fintech landscape.

Since its establishment in 2020, Midas has fundamentally transformed the way individuals in Turkey engage with financial markets. With an emphasis on providing a commission-free and seamless investing experience, millions of users have made their first investments through the platform. Remarkably, Midas users have collectively saved nearly $50 million in transaction fees, with around half of its user base initiating their investing journey on this innovative platform.

Midas is setting unprecedented industry standards by significantly reducing costs for its users. After slashing U.S. trading fees by an impressive 90%, the platform made a groundbreaking decision in 2025 to permanently eliminate all trading commissions on Borsa Istanbul. Furthermore, Midas distinguishes itself by offering free live market data and instant, fee-free transfers, solidifying its reputation as the preferred investment platform for Turkish retail investors.

Having democratized investing for the masses, Midas is now taking steps to cater to more sophisticated investors with the introduction of advanced tools. Following the recent launch of margin investing, advanced analytics, and the Midas Pro platform, the company plans to utilize the Series B funding to introduce derivatives trading options for both Turkish and U.S. equities.

Commencing in September, the rollout will feature U.S. options trading, equipping investors with access to free real-time data, competitive pricing, and intuitive user interfaces—an initiative that epitomizes the “Midas Standard” in the derivatives market.

Midas is also amplifying its commitment to security and operational resilience. The company is investing in infrastructure that meets global standards to ensure a secure environment for investors, reaffirming its commitment to providing a safe, reliable, and uninterrupted investment experience. This focus on security and user experience will ensure that Midas not only meets but exceeds the expectations of its growing user base in an increasingly competitive fintech landscape.
