Midland Industries, a Kansas City, Missouri-based value-added distributor and manufacturer of industrial pipe, valve, and fittings products, announced it has acquired Industrial Specialties Manufacturing (ISM). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1982, ISM is a value-added distributor and assembler of pneumatic, vacuum, and fluid circuitry components serving distributors and original equipment manufacturers globally. The company offers more than 3,000 active SKUs including fittings, couplings, filters, and valves that support a wide range of industrial and medical applications.

The acquisition expands Midland’s product portfolio and broadens its exposure to additional end markets. ISM’s technical capabilities and specialized product offerings are expected to complement Midland’s existing platform while strengthening its presence in OEM channels.

Midland said the combination will enhance its ability to deliver high-quality products, value-added services, and reliable supply chain solutions to customers across its industrial ecosystem.

ISM, headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, serves the industrial, commercial, automotive, and medical device markets. The company provides specialized pneumatic, vacuum, and fluid circuitry products along with technical expertise and customized application solutions.

Midland Industries, founded in 1919, supplies fittings, valves, hose, clamps, and related components used across manufacturing, plumbing, utilities, HVAC, fluid power, and other industrial markets.

Midland is a portfolio company of Gemspring Capital, a Westport, Connecticut-based private equity firm with about $5.1 billion in capital under management that invests in middle market companies across sectors including business services, healthcare, industrial, software, and tech-enabled services.
