Midstream Health Raises $20 Million Series A Led By Valtruis

Midstream Health has raised $20 million in Series A funding to expand its autonomous financial operations platform for U.S. health systems. Valtruis led the round, with continued participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Foundry, and CommonSpirit Ventures.

The financing brings Midstream’s total funding to $29.2 million.

Midstream’s customer base represents more than $100 billion in annual operating expenses and over 250 hospitals across the U.S.

Customers include CommonSpirit Health, Mount Sinai Health System, Houston Methodist, Fairview Health Services, and Keck Medicine of USC.

The company’s platform connects contract, claims, purchasing, pharmacy, and payment information and uses domain-trained AI agents to identify and recover financial value that could otherwise be missed.

Examples include unpaid rebates, payer underpayments, unenforced contract pricing, and other forms of margin leakage.

Midstream said it has identified more than 1,500 financial recovery opportunities for customers during 2026.

Early customers are projecting more than a fivefold return on investment, and the company expects its platform to reach $100 million in cumulative client savings by the end of 2026.

Midstream describes its platform as a “second financial brain” operating alongside health system finance and supply chain teams.

Unlike analytics tools that primarily surface potential issues, Midstream is designed to proceed from identification through recovery while maintaining traceability to underlying source data.

The company is targeting an increasingly difficult financial environment for hospitals, particularly as reimbursement structures become more complex and operating margins remain constrained.

Midstream plans to use the Series A to continue expanding the platform and supporting additional health systems.
