Milestone announced a $10 million seed round as enterprises race to quantify the impact of AI on software development. The Tel Aviv-based startup, which provides an enterprise platform that measures the adoption and effectiveness of AI coding tools, secured the funding from Heavybit and Hanaco Ventures, with additional participation from Atlassian Ventures and angel investors including John Donovan, Tom Preston Warner, Paul Daugherty, and Amit Agrawal.
The rise of AI-generated software development has transformed engineering workflows at a rapid pace. Stack Overflow’s 2025 developer survey found that 84% of developers now use AI tools in their work, and 51% rely on them daily. Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently shared that AI generates more than thirty percent of Google’s code. Despite this accelerating adoption, enterprises still lack clear visibility into the actual performance gains, productivity improvements, or return on investment generated by these systems.
Milestone was built to provide companies with a unified measurement layer for AI-driven engineering. The platform integrates across the entire development stack, connecting with source control, project management tools, HR systems, and AI coding assistants. This approach enables organizations to track AI tool usage and directly connect it to engineering metrics, such as code quality improvements, delivery speed, and long-term maintainability. Customers, including Sapiens, Monday.com, and Kayak, use the platform to understand how AI-driven workflows influence productivity at scale.
Milestone also collaborates with industry-leading developer platforms, including GitHub, Augment Code, Qodo, Continue, and Atlassian. The system integrates with top AI coding tools, including Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Code, enabling engineering leaders to view how multiple AI agents operate across their teams.
The company’s dataset, which comprises thousands of engineers from major enterprises, reveals that AI systems amplify the impact of developers rather than replacing human contributors. Milestone’s research indicates that performance improves most significantly when AI agents have access to deeper structural and contextual information about the codebase, increasing throughput by up to 270% and improving accuracy by up to 60%. The findings reinforce the notion that the quality of contextual data is crucial to establishing a mature AI culture.
The founding team’s roots stretch back to Trinity College Dublin, where CEO Liad Elidan and CTO Prof. Stephen Barrett first collaborated on research related to engineering productivity. Their long-running work on data-driven software development ultimately became the basis for Milestone’s GenAI analysis engine. Heavybit partner Joseph Ruscio said the company’s broad, enterprise-grade integrations position it as an essential platform for engineering leaders who want to quantify how AI is reshaping their organizations.
KEY QUOTES
“Generative AI is rewriting how software is built, but most companies are still guessing at the results. Milestone closes that gap by quantifying what’s actually happening inside engineering organizations so they can turn AI adoption into measurable performance. When teams can finally see how AI affects their work, they trust it more, and that trust drives broader adoption across the company. That’s how you create a real AI culture, not just AI experimentation. An AI culture means every developer, team, and manager understands the value of AI in their workflow, speaks the same language of metrics, and uses data to continuously improve how they build software.”
Liad Elidan, Co Founder And CEO Of Milestone
“At GitHub, we believe giving teams the right platform, the right tools, and the right insight wins. Empowering developers with AI is critical, but understanding the impact of AI tools is equally important. Working with Milestone on this front gives us new visibility into how AI-driven engineering practices scale in real environments—and most importantly, how we can help turn that into measurable value. Together, we’re not just innovating: we’re evolving what engineering success looks like.”
Kyle Daigle, COO Of GitHub
“We’re shifting from a world where all code was written by humans, to one where humans and agents write code together. The incredible speed of innovation in AI is exciting, but it’s challenging for engineering organizations to keep pace with so many new breakthroughs across algorithms, models, and tools. Milestone gives leaders a clear picture of how their teams are using AI to ensure they always deliver the best possible code at the best possible velocity, even as markets and AI tools change.”
Prof. Stephen Barrett, Co-Founder And CTO Of Milestone
“The dawn of Continuous AI is transforming how software is built, and the best engineering teams know that maximizing developer productivity depends on deep visibility into their full engineering data stack. Milestone has built secure, enterprise-grade integrations across the entire engineering toolchain. That foundation uniquely positions them to help engineering leaders maximize the impact of AI on their development teams.”
