Milestone Environmental has acquired the Striker slurry injection facility in Lea County, New Mexico, extending its footprint in the Permian Basin and bringing its network to 15 waste management sites across Texas and New Mexico, the company said.
The transaction, effective January 1, 2026, deepens Milestone’s presence in the northern Delaware Basin and adds treatment and oil reclamation capabilities that the company said will strengthen its handling of tank bottom waste streams and other RCRA-exempt energy waste.
Milestone President and CEO Gabriel Rio said the Striker site will expand the company’s ability to serve energy and industrial customers with compliant waste-management infrastructure while supporting sustainability goals focused on emissions reduction and environmental protection.
The Striker facility includes automated tanker washout systems with high-pressure jets and oil reclamation technology, and it is designed to operate around the clock. Milestone said Striker will continue operating without interruption as the company implements its operating standards and safety protocols.
Milestone said the site uses an injection process intended to permanently isolate waste thousands of feet underground, and that it plans to upgrade the Striker operation in coming months to align with Milestone’s patented slurry injection technology. The company also said the facility’s oil reclamation capabilities are expected to support resource recovery by maximizing the amount of usable material captured from incoming waste streams.
Milestone, headquartered in Houston, describes itself as the largest energy waste sequestration company in the U.S. and said it has sequestered more than 4 million tons of CO2e since 2014 through its injection process. The company is a portfolio company of SK Capital Partners.
