MillerKnoll has appointed Jeff Stutz as Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, effective immediately, following a unanimous decision by the Board.
Stutz has served as Interim Chief Executive Officer since June 30, 2026. The Board selected him for the permanent role following a search process and cited his operating experience, institutional knowledge, and recent performance leading the company.
MillerKnoll said Stutz made an immediate impact during his interim tenure by helping improve operating income, margins, and earnings. As CEO, he will focus on accelerating sales growth, improving profitability, maintaining cost discipline, and strengthening the company’s balance sheet.
Stutz brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the design and manufacturing industry. Before becoming Interim CEO, he served as MillerKnoll’s Chief Operating Officer from September 2025 through June 2026.
As COO, Stutz oversaw the company’s International Contract segment, global manufacturing operations, and European brands including HAY, Muuto, Colebrook Bosson Saunders, and NaughtOne.
Prior to that role, Stutz spent more than a decade as MillerKnoll’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing global financial operations and helping guide the company through periods of macroeconomic pressure and growth initiatives.
He joined Herman Miller in 2001 and held several senior finance positions before becoming CFO, including Vice President of Investor Relations, Corporate Treasurer, and Chief Accounting Officer.
Stutz holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from Grand Valley State University.
MillerKnoll operates a portfolio of design brands that includes Herman Miller, Knoll, Design Within Reach, Geiger, HAY, HOLLY HUNT, Maharam, Muuto, NaughtOne, Spinneybeck, and others. The company serves both workplace and consumer markets globally.
The leadership appointment comes as MillerKnoll continues to navigate macroeconomic pressures, changes in consumer spending, trade policy uncertainty, tariffs, supply chain conditions, and the effects of debt incurred through the Knoll acquisition.
