Mind Robotics, an AI-enabled industrial robotics company, announced a $500 million Series A financing round to support the development and deployment of AI-powered robotic systems at an industrial scale.
The round is co-led by Accel and Andreessen Horowitz and follows a $115 million seed round led by Eclipse Capital in late 2025. The new financing is expected to close later this month. As part of the investment, Accel partner Sameer Gandhi will join the company’s board of directors.
Founded in 2025 by Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe, Mind Robotics is building a full-stack robotics platform designed to automate complex industrial tasks. The company is focused on developing robotic systems capable of performing dexterous and reasoning-intensive work that traditional industrial robots cannot easily handle.
While conventional robotics systems are optimized for repetitive and highly structured tasks, many factory operations require human-like dexterity, adaptability, and physical reasoning. Mind Robotics aims to address that gap by combining foundation AI models, purpose-built robotics hardware, and deployment infrastructure that can operate in real manufacturing environments.
Mind Robotics operates in close partnership with Rivian, which is both a collaborator and a major shareholder. The relationship provides the robotics startup with access to real-world production environments and large volumes of manufacturing data for training its AI systems. Rivian’s electro-mechanical engineering expertise and production data are expected to serve as a critical training and deployment platform for Mind Robotics technology.
The company’s long-term goal is to deploy intelligent robotic systems across factories and industrial environments where labor shortages and increasing automation needs are driving demand for more advanced robotics solutions.
Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Mind Robotics is assembling a team with expertise spanning artificial intelligence, robotics engineering, and large-scale manufacturing systems.
KEY QUOTES:
“As AI enters the physical world, we believe the largest, at-scale application for advanced robotics will be across the industrial sector. Advanced robotics are going to be critical for global competitiveness, as well as addressing the substantial industrial labor shortages that exist today. We’re building robots that will perform real tasks, in real plants, at real scale. I am grateful to have partners that believe in what we are building at Mind Robotics — looking forward to having Sameer join our Board.”
RJ Scaringe — Founder And CEO Of Mind Robotics
“We back leaders, and this team has a track record that speaks for itself. They helped build one of the most ambitious manufacturing operations in the EV industry. That kind of execution doesn’t happen by accident; it reflects the quality of the people behind it. RJ is a disciplined and visionary leader, and we believe AI industrial robotics enables one of the most exciting technological shifts of our time.”
Sameer Gandhi — Partner At Accel
“RJ is one of the very few founders who have built and scaled a vertically integrated hardware company. At Rivian, he architected the full stack — vehicle architecture, electronics, battery systems, embedded software, manufacturing processes, and supply chains — integrating each layer into a cohesive system. That kind of end-to-end systems leadership is precisely what it takes to build a generational robotics company and why we’re excited to back RJ and the Mind Robotics team.”
