MintNeuro Raises $5 Million To Scale Semiconductor Platform For Neural Devices

MintNeuro raised $5 million from European and U.S. investors to accelerate product launches, expand commercial partnerships, and support international growth for its semiconductor platform designed for neural devices. The round was led by Odyssey Ventures. Additional investors included 33East, JSK Investments, Alumni Ventures, Empirical Ventures, Jumpspace Ventures, and other investors that participated in the company’s earlier financing.

MintNeuro is an Imperial College London spinout developing specialized semiconductor chips for devices that interface with the brain and nervous system.

The company is targeting applications including neural implants and other neurotechnology systems that could support treatment and management of conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, and depression.

MintNeuro said many neural-device developers currently face a choice between using generic semiconductor components that were not designed for implantation or spending years developing custom chips.

Its platform is intended to provide purpose-built semiconductor technology optimized for the constraints of implanted and body-integrated devices.

MintNeuro’s technology originated in Imperial’s Next Generation Neural Interfaces Lab, led by Professor Tim Constandinou in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Constandinou and Dr. Dorian Haci, who was then a postdoctoral researcher, founded the company in 2022 after developing the business case through Imperial’s MedTech SuperConnector program.

The company previously raised £1 million in 2024, including backing from the Imperial College Enterprise Fund and conversion of a loan note issued through the MedTech SuperConnector Seed Fund.

MintNeuro has already delivered functioning silicon and reached integration milestones with research and development partners including Motif Neurotech in the U.S. and Amber Therapeutics in the UK.

Earlier in 2026, the company announced a partnership and multi-year commercial chip supply agreement with Motif Neurotech.

That agreement supports development of a minimally invasive neurostimulator initially targeting treatment-resistant depression.

MintNeuro said the new financing will move the company from technology validation toward commercial scale-up, including more customer programs, faster product launches, and broader deployment of its chips among neurotechnology developers.

KEY QUOTES:

“Today, most device and therapy developers still have to choose between generic components that were never designed for the body and years of custom chip development. We are building the chips that end that trade-off.”

Dr. Dorian Haci, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of MintNeuro

“Neurotechnology is entering a phase where specialised hardware will determine how far, and how fast, the field can go. MintNeuro’s semiconductor technology is well-placed to remove the key obstacle to industry scale, which could dramatically accelerate the pace of innovation.”

Professor Tim Denison, Chair of MintNeuro

“MintNeuro is a standout example of what the MedTech SuperConnector Seed Fund exists to do: back exceptional deep tech founders early and help them reach their next stage. Going from Imperial spinout to delivering working silicon for neural devices is a major achievement, and we congratulate Dorian and the team on this raise.”

Hiten Thakrar, Head of Imperial SuperConnector

“This funding moves us from technology validation to commercial scale-up, with more customer programmes, faster product launches and our chips in the hands of many more developers.”

Dr. Dorian Haci, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of MintNeuro

“Neural devices such as brain-computer interfaces represent one of the most exciting frontier technology opportunities today, and significant value will accrue to those solving the foundational infrastructure challenges that stand between innovation and widespread adoption. MintNeuro has the technology, market pull and ambition to become a globally important semiconductor company, and we are backing this exceptional team as it scales from the UK into global markets, including Silicon Valley.”
