Mission Critical Group has closed a preferred investment led by Liberty Mutual Investments as the electrical infrastructure company scales to meet increasing power demand from data centers, manufacturing facilities and energy infrastructure. Invesco Senior Secured Management, Aventail Capital Group and Brigade Capital Management also participated in the investment.
Mission Critical Group is a portfolio company of Emerald Lake Capital Management.
Founded in 2023, MCG combines engineering, U.S. manufacturing and lifecycle support across electrical equipment, modular power solutions, power generation systems and transformers.
The company’s platform is designed to address one of the largest constraints affecting AI and other power-intensive industries: getting sufficient electricity infrastructure deployed quickly enough to support new facilities.
MCG develops customized architectures spanning grid-connected and on-site generation configurations based on customer power, operational and performance requirements.
Its broader product portfolio includes switchgear, e-Houses, power skids, backup power systems, transformers and related critical electrical equipment. The company operates more than 18 U.S. manufacturing facilities and serves technology, manufacturing, healthcare and energy customers across North America.
Liberty Mutual Investments’ Energy & Infrastructure team led the financing. LMI oversees more than $130 billion of long-term capital globally for Liberty Mutual Group.
Jefferies served as exclusive placement agent. Kirkland & Ellis advised MCG, while BDO served as financial adviser to Liberty Mutual Investments. Paul Hastings and Davis Polk & Wardwell also advised on the transaction.
