Mitsubishi Electric has entered into a definitive agreement to buy Nozomi Networks, a global leader in operational technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), and cyber-physical systems (CPS) security. Once the transaction closes—expected in the fourth quarter of 2025—Nozomi Networks will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric, while continuing to operate independently.
This acquisition builds on a strong foundation of collaboration between the two companies, including Mitsubishi Electric’s participation in Nozomi’s $100 million Series E funding round announced in March 2024. The partnership has already yielded joint innovation and go-to-market efforts, laying the groundwork for a deeper strategic alignment.
For Mitsubishi Electric, the deal brings a rapidly growing AI-based cybersecurity software business into its portfolio, one with a proven track record of scalable innovation and financial success. Nozomi’s leadership and engineering teams will remain intact, and the company will retain its headquarters in San Francisco, California, with research and development continuing in Mendrisio, Switzerland.
With over a century of experience in industrial OT and IoT, Mitsubishi Electric plans to support Nozomi’s continued growth and innovation while accelerating digital transformation for critical infrastructure and industrial organizations worldwide. The companies share a vision centered on leveraging data and context from OT/IoT environments, enhanced by artificial intelligence, to deliver more effective cyber defenses and operational improvements.
Importantly, Nozomi Networks will maintain its brand, leadership, and operations, ensuring continuity for customers and partners. There will be no disruption to existing roadmaps, service models, or points of contact, preserving the company’s commitment to customer success and its partner-first approach.
The acquisition is also a cultural fit, with both organizations emphasizing employee support, long-term innovation, and a shared mission to enhance the security and resilience of global infrastructure.
