Mobile Strike Reportedly Generated More Than $1.3 Billion Since Launching

Mobile Strike, a mobile massively multiplayer online strategy game developed by Machine Zone, has reportedly generated over $1.3 billion in revenue since it launched in 2015. VentureBeat reported that this is based on data compiled by Sensor Tower.

Sensor Tower founder Oliver Yeh wrote that Mobile Strike performed the strongest in the U.S. as it is the market generated 55% of its revenue. And in Japan, Mobile Strike generated 13% of its revenue.

Some of the other big franchise mobile games that hit the $1 billion revenue mark include Candy Crush Saga, Clash of Clans, Game of War, Honor of Kings, Monster Strike, Puzzle & Dragons, and Pokémon Go. Mobile Strike generated over $4 million worldwide in August.

Mobile Strike generated over $4 million worldwide in August. And a few months earlier, Mobile Strike hit $90 million in a single month. But the game has fallen since as it is no longer in the top 50 iOS free or gross revenue charts.

Machine Zone released Mobile Strike for iOS and Android in 2015. And the game has a freemium model where downloading the game is free and there are in-app purchases. In the game, you build up a base and perform missions. Plus you can collaborate with other game players.

Movie star and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the game’s commercials, including ones that were featured during Super Bowl 50. Another commercial for the game with Schwarzenegger also aired during Super Bowl LI where he said some of his most iconic movie lines like “get to the chopper” and “Hasta la vista, baby.”

Some of the other games that Machine Zone released include Game of War and Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire.
