Mobileye will supply its Cloud-Enhanced Advanced Driver Assist technology for select future Stellantis vehicles expected to launch beginning in 2027. The agreement will integrate Mobileye’s Road Experience Management technology to support expanded safety and convenience features.
The first applications are planned for select Stellantis models in the United States. Additional deployments will depend on individual vehicle platforms, configurations and market requirements.
Mobileye’s cloud-enhanced system is designed to improve functions such as intelligent lane keeping on roads without clearly marked lanes. It can also support hands-free, eyes-on driving in approved areas and under specified conditions.
Hands-free, eyes-on systems allow drivers to remove their hands from the steering wheel temporarily while continuing to watch the road and remain prepared to take control. The technology does not make the vehicle fully autonomous.
The system will use Mobileye’s EyeQ6L processor and REM Road Experience Management platform. REM gathers selected information from front-facing cameras installed in EyeQ-equipped vehicles and converts that data into a continuously updated map and road-intelligence layer.
The collected data can identify features such as lane boundaries, curbs, crosswalks, traffic signals and common vehicle paths. It can also provide information about typical driving speeds and other characteristics relevant to advanced driver-assistance systems.
Mobileye said the information is anonymized before being transmitted to the cloud. The company’s platform processes the data and sends updated road intelligence back to participating vehicles.
The crowdsourced model allows the system to reflect changing conditions, including construction and modifications to road layouts. Mobileye said REM currently covers more than 95% of public roads in the United States and Europe.
Five of the world’s 10 largest automakers contribute data to the platform. During the previous year, REM received information from more than eight million vehicles covering approximately 34 billion miles.
The technology also supports a range of road types, including highways and dense urban areas. Mobileye is expanding coverage across additional markets in Asia, North America and South America.
Stellantis joins a growing group of global automakers using REM to improve advanced driver-assistance capabilities. The agreement expands the companies’ relationship and gives Stellantis access to a cloud-based system that can update vehicle intelligence as road conditions change.
Mobileye positions Cloud-Enhanced ADAS between conventional driver-assistance systems and more advanced automated-driving products. The company said the platform can deliver additional functionality through an integrated combination of cameras, processors, software and cloud intelligence.
More than 230 million vehicles worldwide had been built with Mobileye EyeQ technology through 2025. The company develops computer vision, artificial intelligence, radar and mapping technologies used across driver-assistance and autonomous-driving systems.
