Mobix Labs announced that it has signed a binding letter of intent to acquire Vision Aerial, a Montana-based manufacturer of American-built drones used across national security, government, energy, public safety, and critical infrastructure sectors.

The proposed acquisition marks Mobix Labs’ entry into the rapidly expanding global drone and aerial intelligence market. Secure, high-performance drones are increasingly being deployed for national security missions, critical asset inspections, emergency response operations, and tasks that would otherwise require personnel to access hazardous or remote locations.

Vision Aerial has established a customer and end-user base that includes the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, USDA Forest Service, L3Harris, major energy and utility operators, and leading research universities. The company specializes in U.S.-manufactured drone systems designed for demanding industrial and government applications.

The acquisition aligns with Mobix Labs’ strategy to expand beyond its existing technology portfolio and capitalize on growing demand for domestically produced drone platforms amid increasing focus on supply chain security, defense readiness, and critical infrastructure protection.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The proposed acquisition remains subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements, completion of due diligence, customary closing conditions, and required approvals.

Mobix Labs said the transaction would position the company to participate in one of the fastest-growing segments of the technology and defense markets, leveraging Vision Aerial’s established customer relationships and expertise in secure drone manufacturing.
