Mobix Labs has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Vision Aerial for approximately $15 million in cash and common stock. The deal is expected to close during the current quarter, subject to customary conditions and shareholder approval.
Mobix Labs plans to retain Vision Aerial’s leadership and U.S.-based manufacturing operations following completion of the acquisition.
Vision Aerial designs and manufactures unmanned aerial systems in the United States. Its drones comply with National Defense Authorization Act procurement requirements and are used by customers including the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, government agencies, utilities, energy companies and research organizations.
The aircraft support missions involving national security, search and rescue, wildfire response, infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, agriculture and mapping.
Founded in 2013 and based in Montana, Vision Aerial produces rugged drone platforms capable of carrying interchangeable sensors.
Payload options include high-resolution and thermal cameras, LiDAR, optical gas imaging systems, multispectral sensors and precision mapping technologies.
Mobix Labs intends to combine those platforms with its radio-frequency, sensing, connectivity, aerospace and defense electronics technologies.
The company believes the acquisition could create a broader aerial intelligence platform that integrates aircraft, sensors, communications and real-time data analysis.
The transaction advances Mobix Labs’ National Security Matters Initiative and expands the company into drones, autonomous systems and critical infrastructure monitoring.
