Moda, a New York-based AI design platform, has raised $7.5 million in seed funding to bring brand-aware design automation to professionals and teams. The funding round was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Pear VC and WndrCo, along with founders and executives from companies including Dropbox, Stripe, Segment, Google, and Scale AI.
Alongside the funding, the company launched its platform publicly, positioning Moda as an AI-powered design agent that understands a company’s brand and visual identity. The platform enables teams to generate presentations, marketing assets, and reports on a fully editable canvas, combining AI speed with professional-grade design control.
Moda’s system differentiates itself from traditional AI image generators by focusing on brand alignment and editability. Rather than producing static outputs, the platform learns from a company’s existing materials, including websites, slide decks, and stored assets, to build a dynamic understanding of its visual language. Each generated design feeds back into the system, improving its output over time.
The platform integrates with common tools such as Google Slides and PowerPoint, allowing teams to adopt it without disrupting existing workflows. Early users include startups such as Fermat, Speak, and Mintlify, as well as teams across sales, marketing, and operations functions.
The company was founded by repeat entrepreneurs with experience building and scaling technology startups. CEO Anvisha Pai previously co-founded Dover, an AI recruiting company backed by Y Combinator, Founders Fund, and Tiger Global, and worked at Dropbox prior to its IPO. COO Ravi Parikh co-founded Heap and Airplane, both of which were acquired, while CTO John Holliman previously worked on infrastructure scaling at Expanse.
Moda plans to use the funding to expand its operations, continue product development, and grow adoption of its AI-driven design platform as demand increases for tools that combine automation with brand consistency.
KEY QUOTES:
“Moda has democratized on-brand asset creation for our entire go-to-market organization. It has freed up so much of my time because this was a clear gap within our team. We’ve already landed leads from assets created with Moda.”
Jennifer Schnadig, Chief of Staff at Fermat
“The most important materials in a company – the pitch deck that closes a round or the sales collateral that wins a key customer – still require taste. Moda lets people work with AI to create beautiful, on-brand work while staying fully in control. It’s the product I wish I had when scaling my previous startup.”
Anvisha Pai, Co-founder and CEO of Moda
“AI makes it easy to generate content, but in the AI software era it’s much harder to create something with real taste, making design and brand judgment a true moat. Anvisha, Ravi and John deeply understand this, and with Moda they’re building a platform that combines high-quality creative with full editability and seamless workflows.”
Quentin Clark, Managing Director at General Catalyst
“It’s rare that we become true power users of a portfolio company’s product, but that’s exactly what happened with Moda. We’re already using it across Pear, and seeing PearX founders use it for pitch decks as well. It shows how a thoughtfully designed AI product can become a true creative partner.”
