Modern Wealth Management has acquired 4thGEN Wealth Management, a Lodi, California-based advisory practice overseeing approximately $330 million in client assets.
The transaction expands Modern Wealth’s presence in Northern California and adds a team with deep relationships among business owners, agricultural families, high-net-worth households, and investors approaching or already in retirement.
4thGEN provides investment management, retirement planning, business succession guidance, and other wealth planning services focused on helping clients build, preserve, and transfer assets across generations.
As part of the acquisition, the full 4thGEN team will join Modern Wealth. The group includes Managing Directors Kenneth F. Levy, CFP, Corey N. Daniel, and Dudley McGee, along with Client Services Manager DeAnn Murray and Client Services Associate Chris Taylor.
Levy, Daniel, and McGee plan to remain actively involved with clients following the transaction, while the firm’s existing support team will also stay in place.
Modern Wealth said the combination will give 4thGEN access to additional tax, estate, risk-management, and financial planning capabilities while preserving the practice’s local presence and collaborative service model.
4thGEN has built its business around multigenerational client relationships and a team-based approach in which multiple advisors share responsibility across client relationships. The structure is intended to provide continuity and reduce reliance on a single advisor.
Succession planning was an important factor in 4thGEN’s decision to partner with Modern Wealth, although the firm’s managing directors emphasized that they are not stepping away from the business.
The acquisition follows Modern Wealth’s September purchase of AWA Wealth Management, a $290 million advisory practice in Auburn, California, serving the broader Sacramento area.
Together, the two transactions add approximately $620 million in client assets and further expand Modern Wealth’s footprint across Northern California.
Modern Wealth said it continues to pursue partnerships with established advisory practices seeking long-term succession solutions, broader planning capabilities, and additional resources to support continued growth.
KEY QUOTES:
“Over the course of my career, our business has always been about relationships – with families, business owners and people in this community who have trusted us through major transitions in their lives. As we thought about succession, we weren’t looking for a way to step away. We wanted to find a partner that would allow us to keep doing what we do well while creating a stronger long-term foundation for our clients and our team. Modern Wealth gives us that continuity while adding tax, estate, risk-management and other planning resources that can deepen the advice we provide.”
Kenneth F. Levy, Managing Director At 4thGEN Wealth Management
“4thGEN is exactly the type of practice we want to bring into Modern Wealth – experienced advisors who have earned deep trust in their community and who are thinking deliberately about what the next generation of their business should look like. Ken, Corey, and Dudley have built a collaborative model centered on long-term relationships and multigenerational planning, and our role is to give them even more resources to serve those families without losing what made the practice successful in the first place. Having started my own career in nearby Modesto, I also know this region well, and I’m excited to expand Modern Wealth’s presence in a market with such a strong base of families and business owners.”
