Mogul has raised an oversubscribed $15.5 million Series A funding round led by Draper Associates, bringing the AI-powered real estate investing platform’s total funding to more than $23.6 million and valuing the company at $126 million.
The round closed 55% above Mogul’s original $10 million target. Stephen Sullivan, co-founder and CEO of BlueChew, made the largest individual investment in the round. Other participants included Draper Dragon, Avalanche Blizzard Fund, Jason Calacanis’ LAUNCH, Venture Togethers, Gaingels, and a group of strategic angel investors.
Founded in 2022 by former Goldman Sachs Real Estate Investment Group professionals Alex Blackwood and Joey Gumataotao, Mogul enables individual investors to invest directly in residential real estate properties and receive monthly distributions based on their ownership.
The company plans to use the new capital to expand its AI infrastructure, grow its team, increase its property portfolio, and develop additional revenue streams. A significant portion of the financing will support hiring across engineering, data science, and supply-focused roles.
Mogul has increasingly deployed AI across its property sourcing and investment workflow, including targeting, supply operations, performance analysis, and ongoing asset monitoring. The company said this technology has enabled four supply-focused employees to support more than 150 assets while reducing manual effort by 89% and cutting the time required to process each property from approximately 18 hours to two hours.
Since launch, Mogul has facilitated more than $110 million in real estate investments and acquired more than 150 properties nationwide. The platform has attracted more than 50,000 investor signups and reported an 80% repeat investment rate. Mogul markets investment opportunities with target internal rates of return ranging from 12% to 20%, though actual investment performance can differ from targets.
The company also reported 14.5-times revenue growth from 2024 to 2025, 5.6-times year-over-year revenue growth, and four-times year-over-year customer growth. Mogul said it is currently cash-flow positive and expects to reach a $9 million revenue run rate by the end of 2026, with a goal of scaling that figure to $60 million within 18 months of the Series A.
Mogul also recently acquired the Mogul.com domain for $1.3 million as part of its effort to build a broader real estate investing brand and platform.
KEY QUOTES:
“The Series A raise validates our thesis that real estate is ready for an AI-powered overhaul. The industry is ripe for innovation and presents a trillion-dollar market cap opportunity. The platform started as a way for Joey and me to invest in high-quality real estate without the headache, and I am proud to say I am still a power user of the platform today. We are typically the first and second checks into each property; however, with a majority of assets over the last three months selling out in under two hours, I have missed out on some of them because I didn’t act fast enough. As a platform, we are already one of one, and the capital provides us with the capability to redefine the broader real estate industry. Looking ahead, our vision is to build a vertically integrated real estate ecosystem that supports the full lifecycle of an asset. By unifying these layers, Mogul can become the defining infrastructure for the industry. In 10 years’ time, Mogul will be the first word that comes to your mind when you think of real estate.”
Alex Blackwood, CEO And Co-Founder Of Mogul
“Real estate has long been one of America’s greatest wealth-building assets, but access to these investment strategies has largely been reserved to institutions. Having worked on building Goldman Sachs’ single-family rental platform from zero to $1 billion in under a year, I’ve seen firsthand what this asset class can deliver when the right technology and systems are applied. The Series A supercharges our supply infrastructure, allowing us to continue improving as we scale. Our thesis, process, and vetting have only strengthened as we’ve grown. This capital will help us expand our platform and portfolio while maintaining the precision and discipline our investors expect.”
Joey Gumataotao, Co-Founder Of Mogul
“We invested in Mogul at the pre-seed stage because Alex and Joey had elite institutional pedigree and a bold vision for a fundamentally different model for real estate investing. This past May, Alex came to our summit as one of our top-performing portfolio companies to share a business update. Seeing the continued strength of the business and the scale of what the team was building, our conviction only grew and by the end of the event, I knew we had to lead the Series A. Mogul is a true ‘rhino,’ charging ahead with investor retention, relentless growth and real execution. The company has the potential to become the defining model for the next era of real estate investing.”
