Monarch Quantum: $55 Million Raised For Quantum Photonics Infrastructure Scale-Up

By Amit Chowdhry • Mar 31, 2026

Monarch Quantum, a quantum photonics hardware company, announced an oversubscribed $55 million growth round as it looks to scale production of its integrated photonics systems for quantum technologies. The funding brings the company’s total capital and customer contracts to more than $115 million within six months of its founding in 2025.

The round was led by Serendipity Capital, with participation from 55 North and Global Innovation Labs. Monarch Quantum entered 2026 with over $60 million in customer contracts from major players in the quantum ecosystem, including Quantinuum, Infleqtion, and NASA.

The company develops Quantum Light Engines™, photonic control systems designed to replace complex laboratory setups with scalable, manufacturable hardware. These systems support quantum computing, sensing, and networking applications and aim to accelerate the transition from experimental systems to commercial deployment.

The new capital will be used to expand production capacity, strengthen the supply chain, and build global partnerships as demand for quantum infrastructure grows. Monarch Quantum is positioning itself as a foundational hardware provider in the emerging quantum technology stack, addressing a key bottleneck in scaling quantum systems.

The company was founded by photonics veteran Dr. Timothy Day, whose prior experience includes building and commercializing advanced laser systems at Daylight Solutions, which was acquired by Leonardo DRS in 2017. Monarch is applying a similar systems engineering approach to integrated photonics, enabling quantum hardware developers to move toward reliable and scalable manufacturing.

Investors highlighted the importance of photonics infrastructure in unlocking the next phase of quantum technology. As public and private investment accelerates globally, scalable hardware solutions are becoming essential to support real-world deployment across industries such as healthcare, defense, and advanced computing.

Monarch Quantum’s platform is designed to serve a wide range of customers, including quantum OEMs, national laboratories, defense integrators, and research institutions, providing the precise photonic control systems required across multiple quantum modalities.

KEY QUOTES:

“Quantum technologies are reaching a point where infrastructure matters as much as the qubits themselves. Our Quantum Light Engines replace complex laboratory photonics systems with manufacturable hardware, enabling our customers to scale quantum platforms faster and more reliably.”

Dr. Timothy Day, Chairman And CEO, Monarch Quantum

“Integrated photonics, and Monarch’s Quantum Light Engines in particular, are a critical enabler for the deployment of quantum technologies.
