Moneta Ventures, which is dual-headquartered in Sacramento, CA, and Austin, TX, has raised over $250 million for its third fund. The firm invests in Seed and Series A enterprise software companies.
Moneta’s investment thesis centers on “Software++,” a set of criteria for investing in software companies with multi-layered monetization strategies and a transformational technology play.
The investors in their most recent fund include high-net-worth individuals and family offices in California and Texas, as well as institutional investors such as banks. Plus, over 10 founders and executives in Moneta Ventures’ portfolio invested in Moneta’s third fund. Of the $250+ million in the fund, $10 million came directly from the Moneta Ventures general partners.
As of the date of closing, Moneta Ventures has over $360 million in assets under management and 56 companies in its portfolio across all three funds, including Aumni, VideoVerse, App Orchid, Sibros, and Worlds.
Most of the partners at Moneta Ventures have been working together as entrepreneurs and operators for over 25 years.
