Monk announced a $25 million Series A financing round to accelerate development of its AI-native accounts receivable platform, bringing total funding to $29 million following a $4 million seed round in 2025. The round was co-led by Footwork and Acrew Capital, with continued participation from BTV.
Monk is focused on automating the contract-to-cash lifecycle, addressing inefficiencies in accounts receivable processes that are often handled manually through email-based workflows. The platform uses AI to manage invoicing, collections, customer communication, and cash application, helping businesses reduce delays and improve operational efficiency.
The company reports that its platform delivers measurable improvements, including an average 40 percent reduction in days sales outstanding, more than 25 hours saved per month for accounts receivable teams, and a 24 percent increase in collections response rates.
Monk’s technology combines AI models with deterministic systems designed to ensure accuracy in financial workflows, particularly in handling payments and customer interactions. The platform is gaining traction among AI-native companies, including ElevenLabs and Profound, as it expands its footprint in the B2B software market.
The new capital will be used to invest in research and development and to expand the company’s product capabilities as it aims to build a broader revenue platform for the AI era.
Founded by George Kurdin and Joe Zhou, the company is headquartered in New York. Kurdin previously worked at D. E. Shaw & Co., Mojang Studios, and Streamlabs, while Zhou has held engineering roles at Google and Snap Inc..
KEY QUOTES:
“AR touches your customers and your revenue — there’s no room for error. We obsess over making AI accurate enough to handle real money. Every model call is wrapped in deterministic code and tested against thousands of edge cases. That’s what lets a small team manage over a billion in receivables for our customers.”
George Kurdin, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Monk
“The challenging part of building in AI is diffusing the technology into the workflows that run the economy. We backed Monk because they’re one of the few application-layer teams willing to do the hard work. Monk’s wedge, an AI-native accounts receivable platform, is rapidly gaining adoption amongst AI-native companies like ElevenLabs and Profound, and is the beginning of a much broader vision to be the B2B revenue platform for the AI era. We at Footwork could not be more excited to partner with George, Joe, and the team to realize this.”
Nikhil Basu Trivedi, Co-Founder and General Partner, Footwork
