Monomoy Capital Partners: Oversubscribed Fund V Closed At $2.25 Billion

By Amit Chowdhry ● Jul 9, 2024

Monomoy Capital Partners, a middle market-focused private investment firm, announced the closing of its fifth private equity fund (Fund V). And Fund V exceeded its initial target of $1.6 billion and was oversubscribed at its final close of $2.25 billion (including a $250 million GP commitment). The firm’s previous fund closed in late 2021 at over $1.1 billion.

With substantial interest and significant demand from a globally diversified investor group, Fund V’s limited partner hard cap was fully allocated at $1.999 billion within eight weeks and reached its final close in 5 months total. The commitments from new and returning LPs across leading endowments, foundations, pension plans, insurance companies, and family offices effectually doubled Monomoy’s investor base, with the firm’s meaningful GP commitment underscoring the fund’s momentum.

Fund V will invest in manufacturing, distribution, and business services companies that the firm believes can benefit from its strategic and operational capabilities. And Monomoy’s in-house operating team — one of the largest in the middle market, collaborates closely with the firm’s investment team and portfolio company management teams to assist in instilling operational improvements, improving cash flow, and fostering growth.

Ropes & Gray LLP served as fund counsel, and Probitas Partners served as the placement agent.
