Monroe Capital: $730.7 Million Private Credit CLO Closed As Firm Expands Structured Credit Platform

By Amit Chowdhry ● Nov 25, 2025

Monroe Capital has closed Monroe Capital PCL CLO 1, LTD, a $730.7 million term debt securitization, marking the firm’s third CLO transaction completed in 2025. The deal is backed by a portfolio of lower- and traditional-middle-market senior secured loans. And it represents Monroe’s first private credit CLO, adding further scale to the firm’s structured credit platform.

The securitization featured issued debt tranches rated from AA through BBB minus, while Monroe and its affiliates retained a majority of the subordinated notes. BNP Paribas served as the Initial Purchaser and Placement Agent. The transaction was structured to comply with risk retention standards across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

Monroe Capital continues to strengthen its CLO franchise, which now exceeds $4.5 billion in assets under management. The firm maintains a 21-year track record as both a middle-market and broadly syndicated CLO manager, and serves as a diversified private credit provider across more than 45 investment vehicles. These include direct lending funds, venture debt strategies, alternative credit strategies, and both publicly traded and private BDCs.

The firm was recently named the 2025 Most Innovative Private Credit CLO Manager of the Year by DealCatalyst and LSTA. Monroe Capital now manages $22 billion in assets as of October 1, 2025, with a presence across the United States, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.

KEY QUOTES:

We are grateful to BNP for their partnership and execution on a complex transaction, and to our investors for their continued trust and support as we expand Monroe’s presence in the private credit space.”
