Morgan Lewis has expanded its Paris office with the addition of a five-lawyer international trade and investigations team, strengthening its capabilities across sanctions, export controls, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, ESG, and cross-border investigations.
The group joins from Hughes Hubbard and is led by partners Marie-Agnès Nicolas and Anne Gaustad-Hanken, alongside of counsel Mathieu Rossignol and associates Lorenza Nava and Timothé Radosavljevic. Nicolas and Gaustad-Hanken previously co-chaired their former firm’s global investigations, enforcement, and compliance practice in Europe.
The move builds on Morgan Lewis’s broader effort to enhance its transatlantic trade enforcement platform, including the recent addition of partner Michael Huneke in Washington, DC. The Paris expansion also follows the firm’s significant 2025 growth in the city, when it added a 54-lawyer cross-practice team.
The newly arrived team brings deep experience advising multinational organizations on cross-border enforcement matters, including economic sanctions, export controls, anti-corruption compliance, ESG, and French regulatory issues. Their work includes leading internal investigations, designing global compliance programs, conducting risk assessments and audits, and advising financial institutions on complex disputes involving investment products.
Anne Gaustad-Hanken also advises clients on business and human rights risks and corporate governance, representing companies in investigations and regulatory proceedings before US and European authorities, multilateral development banks, and other international institutions.
The hires further position Paris as a key hub for cross-border compliance and enforcement work within Morgan Lewis’s global platform, as clients face increasing geopolitical tension, evolving sanctions regimes, and heightened regulatory scrutiny across jurisdictions.
