Morgan Lewis: Tax Team Expansion With Three Partners In New York

By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 1, 2026

Morgan Lewis & Bockius announced it has added a three-partner tax and transfer pricing team in New York from Baker McKenzie, strengthening its capabilities in international tax planning, disputes, and cross-border transactions. The move reflects the firm’s continued investment in its global tax platform amid rising regulatory scrutiny and increasingly complex international tax frameworks.

The incoming partners, Julia Medynskaya, Daniel Rosen, and Brendan Sponheimer, are joined by principal economist Joshua Nixt. The group brings experience spanning tax controversy, transfer pricing, cross-border M&A, and international tax planning, enhancing the firm’s ability to advise multinational clients on both transactional and contentious matters.

The hires follow a series of recent additions to the firm’s tax practice, including other lateral partners across the United States and United Kingdom. Morgan Lewis said it has added multiple tax partners over the past year as part of a broader strategic expansion across key financial and regulatory centers.

The firm emphasized that demand for sophisticated tax advice continues to grow as companies face heightened enforcement environments, evolving transfer pricing rules, and increased scrutiny from regulators and lawmakers. The new team is expected to support clients navigating audits, disputes, and cross-border restructuring, while also advising on high-profile transactions and corporate reorganizations.
