Morgan Lewis announced that it has added a three-partner tax and transfer pricing team in New York, strengthening its capabilities in international tax planning, controversy, and cross-border transactions. The group includes Julia Medynskaya, Daniel Rosen, Brendan Sponheimer, and principal economist Joshua Nixt.
The team joins from Baker McKenzie and brings experience across tax controversy, transfer pricing, international tax planning, and cross-border M&A. Their arrival follows the recent addition of tax partner Salim Rahim in Washington, DC, as the firm continues to expand its global tax bench.
Julia Medynskaya focuses on advising multinational companies on US and cross-border tax matters, including corporate reorganizations, supply chain optimization, and tax controversies. She has served as lead tax counsel on major public transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, and spin-offs.
Daniel Rosen concentrates on large tax disputes, including matters before the US Tax Court, with experience in transfer pricing, cross-border transactions, and research and development tax credits. He previously spent more than 16 years with the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel.
Brendan Sponheimer advises on transfer pricing and cross-border tax matters, representing clients in IRS audits, administrative appeals, and litigation across multiple federal courts. His work also includes disputes involving research and development tax credits and supply chain structuring.
Joshua Nixt supports clients with transfer pricing, valuation, and economic analysis, including work involving intangible assets, licensing transactions, and IP migration planning.
Over the past year, Morgan Lewis has added nine tax partners across its US and UK offices, reflecting a broader strategy to grow its tax practice in key financial and regulatory markets.
