Morgan Stanley Investment Management has introduced the Morgan Stanley Private Markets ELTIF, a new vehicle designed to expand investor access to diversified private market opportunities across Europe, the United States, and Asia. The launch marks a significant expansion of the firm’s private markets offering, leveraging the capabilities of its Portfolio Solutions Group.
The Fund is structured to appeal to investors seeking long-term capital appreciation through exposure to private equity, private credit, real assets, and selected public investments. Its strategy incorporates a thematic investment philosophy centred on major global trends that are reshaping economies and industries, including digitization, sustainability, deglobalization, and evolving patterns of living. The investment team employs a bottom-up approach, supported by extensive market and fundamental research, to identify high-conviction opportunities across geographies and sectors.
In addition to direct investments, the Fund is designed to partner with third-party managers to source co-investment opportunities by leveraging Morgan Stanley’s global platform and extensive sourcing networks. The objective is to broaden deal flow and strengthen access to differentiated private market transactions.
Structured under the ELTIF 2.0 regulatory framework, the Fund will be actively managed and semi-liquid, providing flexibility through monthly subscriptions and potential quarterly redemptions. Within this framework, and in accordance with regulatory requirements, the vehicle may also invest in public fixed income and other instruments to support liquidity management and overall portfolio construction.
The launch comes as demand continues to rise among global investors seeking private market exposure that can complement traditional portfolios and potentially enhance risk-adjusted returns. Morgan Stanley Investment Management noted that the new ELTIF is intended to expand access to high-quality private market opportunities previously limited to more specialized investor segments.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management oversees $1.8 trillion in assets under management or supervision as of 30 September 2025 and employs more than 1,400 investment professionals worldwide. The firm offers investment solutions across various asset classes to governments, institutions, corporations, and individual investors.
