Morgan Stanley Launches $1.5 Trillion U.S. Innovation Infrastructure Initiative Across AI, Defense And Energy

Morgan Stanley has launched the U.S. Innovation Infrastructure Initiative, committing to facilitate approximately $1.5 trillion of capital raising, financing, advisory and related investment activity over the next 10 years.

The firm said the initiative is focused on companies, technologies and infrastructure considered important to U.S. economic competitiveness and national security.

Morgan Stanley plans to combine capabilities across investment banking, capital markets, wealth management and investment management to support clients at different stages of growth.

The initiative will focus on three broad categories.

The first is Innovation Platforms and Strategic Industries, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced computing, software, quantum technologies, semiconductors, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, aerospace and defense, pharmaceuticals and critical minerals.

The second area is Infrastructure for the Innovation Economy.

Morgan Stanley plans to support development and financing of digital, physical and energy infrastructure, as well as critical supply chains required by a more compute-intensive and energy-demanding economy.

The third category is Capital for Builders and Growth Companies.

The firm will provide capital markets, advisory and investment capabilities to founders, entrepreneurs and established companies as they move through formation, growth, scaling, liquidity events, public markets access, government funding and longer-term development.

The program will complement Morgan Stanley’s existing work with founders and growth companies, including private-company research and its Founders Summit.
