Mori Hamada & Matsumoto has appointed Kristian Bradshaw as a partner in its energy and infrastructure practice in Tokyo, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in cross-border energy and project development work.
Bradshaw joins from Hunton Andrews Kurth, where he was a partner, and brings approximately 20 years of experience advising on complex energy and infrastructure transactions across the Asia-Pacific region. His expertise spans the structuring, development, financing, and acquisition of large-scale projects, with a focus on LNG, hydrogen and ammonia, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure.
Prior to his time at Hunton Andrews Kurth, Bradshaw served as a local partner at White & Case and held an in-house role as general counsel at INPEX Corporation, one of Japan’s largest oil and gas exploration companies. His combined private practice and in-house experience positions him to advise clients on both strategic and operational aspects of major energy projects.
The hire reflects Mori Hamada’s continued expansion in the energy and infrastructure sector, an area of increasing importance as Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region accelerate investment in energy transition and large-scale infrastructure development. The firm has been actively building out its capabilities in areas such as renewable energy, hydrogen, and digital infrastructure to meet growing client demand.
Mori Hamada is one of Japan’s leading law firms, with nearly 600 lawyers in its Tokyo headquarters, including more than 170 partners, and a strong track record in cross-border transactions and project finance work.
KEY QUOTE:
“His extensive cross-border experience and deep understanding of the Japanese market will be instrumental as Mori Hamada continues to build a world-class energy and infrastructure practice.”
Hiroki Aoyama, Managing Partner, Mori Hamada & Matsumoto
