Moritt Hock & Hamroff announced that Parag Parekh has joined the firm as a partner in its Condominium & Cooperative Services practice based in Midtown Manhattan. The New York-headquartered commercial law firm said the appointment comes as its Condo & Co-Op practice continues to expand amid rising residential development activity, increasing demand, and evolving building regulations across New York City.

Parekh joins the firm from Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas and brings more than 15 years of experience advising boards and representing developers, purchasers, sellers, and investors in commercial and residential real estate matters. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant attorney in the Real Estate Finance Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office.

Moritt Hock & Hamroff said its Condo & Co-Op practice has doubled in size over the last two years and continues to advise a growing roster of clients across New York City. The practice counsels co-op and condominium boards, developers, unit owners, tenants, and lenders on matters including construction contracts, litigation, financings, and regulatory filings.

The firm added that members of the practice maintain leadership roles in state and local bar associations as well as industry organizations including the Construction Law Society of America and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
