Morrison Foerster Adds Chris Grey As London M&A Partner And UK Tech Sector Lead

Morrison Foerster has added Chris Grey as a partner in its M&A Practice Group and named him UK Tech Sector Lead, continuing the law firm’s expansion of its transactional and technology capabilities in London.

Grey brings nearly 20 years of experience advising major global companies, investors, founders and growth-stage businesses on complex cross-border technology mergers and acquisitions and strategic investments.

His practice has a particular focus on financial technology, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.

Over the course of his career, Grey has advised on transactions with an aggregate value exceeding $100 billion.

His broader transactional experience includes cross-border M&A, take-private transactions, strategic investments, partnerships and joint ventures, venture capital transactions, financings and corporate governance matters.

Grey also has experience across robotics, software, quantum computing, defense, semiconductors and IT services.

Having practiced in both London and Paris for many years, Grey has advised U.S. and European clients on multibillion-dollar transatlantic transactions and brings experience handling matters spanning multiple jurisdictions.

Grey joins Morrison Foerster from another major global law firm, where he was a partner and previously served as global co-head of technology M&A and global co-lead of the firm’s technology sector.

His addition is intended to strengthen Morrison Foerster’s ability to advise clients on transactions at the intersection of technology, capital and regulation.

In 2025, MergerLinks ranked Grey among the top 10 fintech lawyers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Grey becomes the tenth Transactions partner to join Morrison Foerster’s London office during the past 18 months.

The firm has been investing in its London transactional platform as part of a broader strategy to expand its global capabilities in technology-related M&A.

Grey’s appointment also strengthens Morrison Foerster’s ability to work across major technology and financial centers, including Silicon Valley, New York, Tokyo and London.

His practice complements the firm’s existing capabilities across M&A, emerging companies and venture capital, private equity investments and buyouts and technology transactions.

Grey earned a Bachelor of Laws with honors and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from the University of Sydney.

He is admitted to practice in England and Wales and has also qualified in France and Australia, where he is currently non-practicing.

Grey is bilingual in English and French.
