Morrison Foerster has added Kaitlin Bagby as a partner in its Emerging Companies + Venture Capital Group in Palo Alto, continuing the law firm’s expansion of its U.S. emerging companies and venture capital platform.
Bagby brings more than a decade of experience advising high-growth technology companies throughout the corporate lifecycle, from formation and venture financings through mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings.
She also represents venture capital investors in financings and other strategic transactions.
Her practice includes advising founders, emerging companies, later-stage private businesses and investors as companies encounter increasingly complex financing, governance, transactional and strategic requirements.
Bagby has worked across sectors including financial technology, artificial intelligence, software and insurtech.
She also brings significant experience working with early-stage companies, including Y Combinator-backed businesses, and has developed relationships across the broader venture ecosystem.
Morrison Foerster said Bagby’s ability to begin working with founders at an early stage and continue advising them as their companies grow aligns with the lifecycle approach the firm is building within its ECVC practice.
Bagby represents Morrison Foerster’s tenth Emerging Companies + Venture Capital partner addition since 2024, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in expanding its capabilities for startups, growth companies and venture investors in the U.S.
Based in Palo Alto, Bagby will work with Morrison Foerster lawyers across practices and geographic markets to advise companies as they progress from formation and early financing rounds through later-stage transactions and potential exits.
Her addition also expands the firm’s capabilities in Silicon Valley, where emerging technology companies increasingly require coordinated advice spanning venture financing, corporate governance, M&A and capital markets.
Bagby’s practice has been built around long-term relationships with founders and investors, allowing her to serve as an embedded adviser as businesses scale and their legal and strategic needs become more complex.
Morrison Foerster said her experience supporting cross-practice work will also help the firm connect emerging companies with broader legal capabilities as they grow.
