Morse Micro, a leader in providing Wi-Fi HaLow silicon solutions worldwide, has completed its Series C funding round, raising an impressive $59 million, which translates to $88 million in Australian currency. This significant investment was spearheaded by MegaChips, with valuable contributions from a diverse group of participants, including the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC), Blackbird, Main Sequence, Uniseed, and Ray Stata. Additionally, notable figures such as Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull, along with Startmate and several institutional investors, including Hostplus, NGS, and UniSuper, joined the round. This latest funding infusion brings the company’s total funding to date to over $193 million, or $290 million AUD, highlighting strong investor confidence in Morse Micro’s vision.

This substantial new funding is earmarked to fuel Morse Micro’s ambitious plans for international expansion, allowing the company to extend its reach into new global markets. A key objective is to significantly scale up the production of its advanced Wi-Fi HaLow chips, meeting the growing demand for these innovative solutions. Furthermore, the investment will play a crucial role in supporting the broader industry’s transition towards IoT 2.0. This next phase of the Internet of Things is characterized by a strong emphasis on high-throughput, long-range, and highly scalable connectivity, which is essential for the ever-increasing number of IoT devices. Morse Micro’s technology is perfectly positioned to enable this evolution, providing the foundational connectivity needed for a truly connected future.

The timing of this funding round is particularly significant, coinciding with a period of remarkable growth and momentum for Morse Micro and the burgeoning semiconductor industry in Australia. This very week, the company is set to unveil its HaLowLink 2, a cutting-edge, next-generation evaluation platform designed for global deployment.

This announcement follows a year of substantial achievements, including the launch of its second-generation System-on-Chip (SoC), a strategic expansion of its ecosystem partnerships, and the delivery of innovative new reference designs. Moreover, Morse Micro has successfully achieved mass production with leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), demonstrating its ability to translate technological innovation into real-world applications. These collective milestones vividly underscore Morse Micro’s pivotal role in driving the global shift from proof-of-concept IoT projects to widespread, full-scale industrial and consumer deployments, cementing its position at the forefront of the IoT revolution.
