Marin Sonoma Impact Ventures closed MSIV Fund II with more than $11 million to invest in startups across Marin and Sonoma counties. The new fund more than doubles MSIV’s assets under management to over $17.7 million.
MSIV positions itself as a regional venture capital firm focused specifically on entrepreneurs and companies in the North Bay Area.
Fund II received commitments from 60 limited partners.
Approximately 98% of the capital came from residents or institutions based in Marin and Sonoma counties.
A majority of the largest limited partners in MSIV’s first fund also invested in Fund II.
Redwood Credit Union Community Fund committed $1 million to the new vehicle.
Across its two funds, MSIV now has support from 93 limited partners.
The firm’s venture capital operation has deployed more than $8.665 million into 22 Marin and Sonoma startups.
Fund I is fully deployed across 13 investments.
Fund II has already completed nine investments, including Gable, Lighthouse Pharmaceuticals, Lumo, OLarry, Skribe Medical, and Your360 AI.
