Mueller Industries announced that it has acquired Bison Metals Technologies LLC, a U.S.-based producer of copper tubes with a manufacturing facility in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

The transaction is aimed at strengthening Mueller’s domestic production footprint, particularly in copper tube manufacturing, while enhancing its ability to supply internal operations with critical feedstock materials.

Bison’s capabilities are expected to expand Mueller’s industrial tube manufacturing capacity and improve operational efficiency by reducing reliance on foreign-produced inputs. The move is also positioned as a strategic response to tariff-related costs tied to importing feedstock from international subsidiaries.

Mueller Industries operates a broad network of manufacturing businesses serving sectors such as air, water, oil and gas distribution, climate systems, food preservation, electrical transmission, medical, aerospace, and automotive markets across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The company indicated that integrating Bison into its operations will support its long-term strategy of enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities while optimizing supply chain economics.

KEY QUOTE:

“The addition of Bison to the Mueller group expands our domestic tube manufacturing capacity, broadens our industrial tube manufacturing capabilities and importantly, enhances our ability to produce tube that is utilized as feedstock for certain of our value-added products. This capability will help mitigate tariff costs we currently incur on feedstock that is manufactured at our foreign subsidiaries for eventual use by our U.S. production operations.”
