Mueller Industries, an industrial manufacturer focused on metal-based products, announced it has acquired Bison Metals Technologies LLC, a U.S.-based producer of copper tubes, strengthening its domestic manufacturing footprint.

Bison Metals operates a single manufacturing facility in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and the acquisition is expected to expand Mueller’s tube production capacity in the United States while enhancing its ability to produce key feedstock used in value-added products.

The company said the transaction will also broaden its industrial tube manufacturing capabilities and help reduce tariff-related costs associated with sourcing materials from overseas operations.

Mueller Industries manufactures products used across a wide range of sectors, including air and water distribution, oil and gas systems, climate control, food preservation, electrical transmission, medical applications, aerospace, and automotive markets. The company operates a global network spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

KEY QUOTE:

“The addition of Bison to the Mueller group expands our domestic tube manufacturing capacity, broadens our industrial tube manufacturing capabilities and importantly, enhances our ability to produce tube that is utilized as feedstock for certain of our value-added products. This capability will help mitigate tariff costs we currently incur on feedstock that is manufactured at our foreign subsidiaries for eventual use by our U.S. production operations.”
