MulticoreWare has acquired Simulus Automation, a semiconductor design and verification specialist, expanding its hardware engineering capabilities and creating a more integrated offering spanning silicon architecture through software deployment.
Simulus serves customers developing systems-on-chip, chipsets and accelerator technologies and brings semiconductor hardware design and verification capabilities to MulticoreWare’s existing AI software, accelerated computing and engineering operations.
The combination is designed around the growing use of heterogeneous computing architectures that integrate CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, NPUs and programmable FPGA technology.
MulticoreWare said the acquisition expands its FPGA-native engineering capabilities through High-Level Synthesis and RTL implementations, supporting workloads including sensor fusion, physical AI, edge computing and robotics.
Simulus also adds design and verification expertise across CXL and PCIe connectivity protocols, supporting high-bandwidth and low-latency connections between processing components.
The combined team will also expand MulticoreWare’s ability to deploy repetitive workloads on cloud FPGAs and emulate AI workloads using hyperscale cloud infrastructure.
