Multiplier has raised $6 million in seed financing to develop AI infrastructure specifically for asset management firms as investors increasingly look beyond general-purpose AI tools toward systems built around their proprietary research and decision-making processes. Lux Capital led the round, with participation from Y Combinator, GoAhead Ventures, Rebel Fund, General Advance, Unpopular Ventures and Amino Capital.
Individual investors include Bridgewater Associates Co-CIOs Greg Jensen and Karen Karniol-Tambour, Fortress Investment Group Chairman Pete Briger, DeepMind Chief Strategy Officer Jasjeet Sekhon, Polygon CEO Sandeep Nailwal and Opendoor CEO Kaz Nejatian.
Customers, particularly Mercator Partners, also participated.
Multiplier develops what it calls “agent harnesses” for asset managers.
Rather than providing a standalone web application, Multiplier deploys a common technology substrate inside each customer’s own systems and then builds firm-specific capabilities on top of it.
Those customizations can incorporate a firm’s research frameworks, internal information, investment processes, preferred workflows and security requirements.
Multiplier also develops bespoke evaluation systems for individual firms.
The company believes these evaluations are important for monitoring AI systems as models undergo continual learning and ensuring they do not drift away from an investment firm’s intended processes or decision-making standards.
The platform is designed for use throughout an investment workflow, ranging from initial idea generation to post-trade review.
Multiplier’s thesis is that the most valuable data available to an asset manager is often not broadly accessible market information, but the firm’s accumulated proprietary research, judgment and historical decision-making.
Co-Founder and CEO Ian McInnis was an investor at Bridgewater Associates until earlier in 2026.
COO Ryan Winkler previously worked at StepStone Group, while CTO and President Ben Finch was a founding researcher at AI company Sentient Labs.
The founders met at Princeton University, where they established a student-run hedge fund.
Long/short investment manager Mercator Partners helped incubate Multiplier before the company had a finished product.
Greg Jensen provided the company’s first investment check. Multiplier noted that Jensen was also an early investor in OpenAI and wrote Anthropic’s first outside investment check.
The company was previously known as WithAI and changed its name to reflect its goal of using AI to “multiply great investors” rather than replace them.
Multiplier plans to use the seed financing to pursue its ambition of becoming an AI operating system for investment professionals.
KEY QUOTES:
“You still need domain specialization, but you also need firm specialization. Your data access demands are now ‘all the data, information, and context that I as a human can access and then some.’ Now that the AI’s getting woven so deeply into your firm, your security demands go way beyond compliance box-ticking.”
Ian McInnis, Co-Founder And CEO Of Multiplier
“The most valuable dataset inside an asset manager is not the market data everyone can buy, but the firm’s accumulated research, judgment, and decision history. Multiplier provides the missing connective tissue.”
Phil Brady, GoAhead Ventures
“We used to spend 80% of our time gathering information and 20% acting on it. Multiplier has flipped those percentages.”
Scott Hobart, CIO Of Mercator Partners
