Mutares SE & Co. KGaA announced it has signed agreements to acquire two automotive supplier businesses from Magna International, strengthening its Automotive & Mobility segment through strategic expansion of the Amaneos and HiLo platforms.

The transactions, expected to close in the second quarter of 2026 pending regulatory approvals, will add combined revenues of approximately $320 million in 2025 and are designed to enhance Mutares’ capabilities across exterior, lighting, and roof systems.

The first acquisition involves Magna’s European automotive lighting business, which is expected to generate approximately $235 million in revenue in 2025. The business will serve as a transformational add-on to Light Mobility Solutions GmbH within the Amaneos Group, enabling the integration of advanced lighting technologies into exterior modules. This combination is expected to increase product differentiation, enhance value per vehicle platform, and position the platform as a comprehensive supplier for OEM customers.

In parallel, Mutares will acquire Magna’s car top systems business, which is expected to generate approximately $85 million in revenue in 2025. The business will be integrated into the HiLo Group, expanding its capabilities in roof and exterior systems by combining existing expertise in hinges and locking systems with advanced roof architectures and mechanisms.

The acquisitions are expected to create meaningful operational and commercial synergies while deepening system integration capabilities across Mutares’ automotive portfolio. The strategy aligns with the firm’s broader growth plan, which focuses on scaling platform companies and preparing them for midterm exits.

Mutares’ expansion efforts are supported by a recently announced capital increase, aimed at accelerating growth across key markets in Europe and the United States and advancing its long-term financial targets.
