Alon Maimoni

Primary Responsibilities

What are Alon Maimoni’s responsibilities? Maimoni said:

“As N2W’s CRO, I’m fortunate to lead our Revenue Organization, which includes marketing, sales, customer success, and revenue operations. My role is all about bringing these very talented and hardworking teams together, operating as a unified, well-oiled machine and delivering consistent, measurable value to our 1,000+ customers. Most importantly, we are driving long-term success and providing peace of mind to every customer — to not only meet but exceed customer expectations and business objectives. “

Favorite Memory

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Maimoni reflected:

“I’ve had so many memorable moments with the team, but one that truly stands out happened early in my time here. I was speaking with a major customer who was in the middle of a disaster recovery situation. Their company was on the brink of losing sensitive data, and the stakes were incredibly high—not just for their business but also for the jobs of their IT team.”

“Hearing the fear in their voice as they described the situation was humbling, but even more important was hearing the relief and gratitude when they explained how our solution helped them recover. Because of our platform, they avoided a major catastrophe, safeguarded their data, and protected their own customers.”

“It was in that moment I realized I wasn’t just working for a company with a great product—I was part of a team whose work genuinely makes a difference. That’s not something you can fake or reduce to marketing buzzwords; it’s real, and it’s why I’m proud to be here.”

“This moment didn’t just remind me why our product matters—it even sparked our recent rebrand. We’ve transformed from N2WS to N2W—same “Not 2 Worry” promise, now with a very sleek logo, new site, fresh color palette—but it’s so much more than a makeover. It’s our vow to lighten the load for cloud IT teams: fewer midnight alerts, less firefighting, and real weekend freedom. We want to welcome them to “Ditch the Drama”.

Core Products

N2W

What are the company’s core products and features? Maimoni explained:

“Our core product and primary focus is N2W, our industry-leading cloudbackup & recovery solution. Originally launched on AWS over a decade ago, we’ve spent the last 13 years expanding and fulfilling our customers’ needs, including support for Azure. It’s designed to empower, de-stress and simplify the lives of the unsung heroes of modern corporations—the IT teams. Their responsibility is enormous because, let’s face it, when your system goes down (or even just one critical VM or file), it’s like red lights flashing on the bridge of a starship. Chaos ensues. That’s why we make it our mission to simplify and streamline the management of what’s often the last line of defense for companies: their backups.”

N2W

“When all else fails, your backups are your lifeline. Whether it’s a ransomware attack, a malicious actor, or just someone clicking the wrong button, our tool ensures you can bounce back quickly and confidently.”

“N2W offers a cloud-native, cross-cloud backup and disaster recovery platform that delivers unmatched ease of use and powerful features. Let me highlight a few key capabilities:

– A single pane of glass: Manage AWS and Azure resources without juggling multiple, disconnected consoles – no need to feel like a juggler with flaming torches.

– Industry-leading RPO (Recovery Point Objective): With backup intervals as short as 60 seconds, your worst-case data loss might be no older than the time it takes to tie your shoes.

– Lightning-fast RTO (Recovery Time Objective): Downtime costs money, and every minute matters. Our near-zero RTO ensures you’re back up and running before the CEO starts asking, ‘What’s the holdup?’

– Comprehensive backup coverage: We don’t just back up servers, databases, and file repositories; we also back up the critical infrastructure, like your network configurations, that grant access to these resources. Think of it this way: a car insurance policy that replaces your car but forgets the tires isn’t much help.

– Finally, we offer automated disaster recovery (DR) testing. No more sacrificing weekends for failover testing. Schedule it, automate it, and let the system handle the heavy lifting—all with zero human intervention.

N2W

In short, we’re here to ensure IT teams sleep better at night, knowing their backups are rock solid, recoverable, always available, and ready for whatever comes their way.”

Customer Success Stories

When asking Maimoni about customer success stories, he highlighted:

“We absolutely love hearing the diverse success stories from our customers—it’s one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.”

“Take St. John’s University, a New York-based institution facing the common challenges of higher education: simplicity, security, and cost savings. Their systems analyst, George, shared that their most pressing concern is the surge in ransomware attacks targeting the education sector. By using N2W, George’s team implemented cross-account backups with immutability, allowing them to recover immediately to a healthy production state. This approach not only provides an added layer of security against cyber threats but also ensures compliance with strict auditing requirements.”

“St. John’s also has an aggressive backup lifecycle schedule, taking multiple daily, weekly, and monthly backups. With N2W, they can restore from any of these backups instantly and without incurring high storage costs, as incremental backups are stored in the most cost-effective, flexible tier. Think about it—universities must retain student records for decades. That’s a massive amount of data, and without a solid retention strategy, storage costs can skyrocket. N2W helps them avoid unnecessary expenses while maintaining accessibility.”

“Human error is another challenge George’s team has faced. Every IT admin has had that moment—accidentally deleting a file or terminating an instance that seemed unused. Thanks to N2W, George’s team can recover both entire instances and individual files in under a minute, no indexing or manual searching required. George couldn’t thank us enough for turning those “oops” moments into stress-free recoveries.”

“Another great example is Gett, a global taxi-hailing app. Before their IPO, they faced significant complexity and operational challenges. Danny, their global head of IT, was overwhelmed with Lambda scripts for backups and struggled to manage their numerous cloud accounts and resources. After deploying N2W, his team eliminated the need for manual tagging and console toggling.”

“Additionally, by leveraging N2W Resource Control, Gett automated the process of turning off resources during downtime, saving them a staggering $100,000 over two years. With a solid, demonstrable, business continuity plan and cost-efficient operations, Gett was able to present a compelling value proposition to investors and successfully launch their IPO.”

“These stories remind us why we do what we do – helping our customers achieve peace of mind, operational efficiency, and real-world results.”

Total Addressable Market

What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Maimoni assessed:

“We cater to a diverse portfolio of customers, spanning SMBs, large enterprises, and government institutions around the globe. Our primary focus is on organizations spending $1M or more annually on AWS or Azure – a sweet spot where our solution can truly be a game changer.”

“For these customers, N2W delivers significant value by streamlining backup and disaster recovery processes, saving them time, and very dramatically reducing costs. One of the ways we achieve this is by tiering incremental data to more affordable storage options, ensuring efficiency without compromising on performance or reliability.”

“Even providing the added peace of mind to allow cross-cloud storage and recovery!”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition? Maimoni affirmed:

“As the pioneer in cloud-native backup and recovery, our primary competition comes from the native solutions offered by cloud providers. What sets us apart is our ability to go beyond the basics and deliver unparalleled feature richness and flexibility to our customers. Native, built-in solutions try the ‘make it fit for everyone approach.’ We’re different:

— Simplicity: We provide a single-pane-of-glass solution for managing multiple AWS and Azure accounts, eliminating the need for juggling multiple consoles.

— Major cost Savings: By leveraging tiered incremental snapshots and automating archival (cold) storage directly to AWS S3 and Azure Blob, we help customers significantly reduce cloud storage costs without compromising on backup frequency or retention. We also recently added support for Wasabi S3, adding flexibility via another Multicloud option for major long-term savings and isolated security.

— Comprehensive Recovery: Our solution allows for one-step recovery of entire production workloads, including critical network configurations—a feature often overlooked by competitors.

— Cross-Cloud Backup & Recovery (True Air gapping): We enable customers to back up and recover data across clouds, ensuring a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy that surpasses the limitations of single-cloud solutions. It avoids the dreaded vendor lock-in and provides secure isolation for maximum defense against cyber attacks.

— Enterprise-Grade Security: Our advanced security features are designed to meet the most stringent requirements, giving organizations peace of mind when it comes to data protection and compliance.

We go far beyond the limitations of native cloud solutions, offering the flexibility to tailor backups and recovery to your unique needs—because one size never fits all.”

Evolution Of The Company’s Technology

How has the company’s technology evolved since its launch? Maimoni noted:

“12 years ago we pioneered a solution that addressed a critical gap in automated cloud backup and recovery. Back then we had to explain to a lot of folks exactly what the Shared Responsibility Model meant– they didn’t even know their data wasn’t being backed up properly by their cloud provider!”

“Our product introduced automated cross-region and cross-account backup & recovery, delivering near-zero RTO to protect for any unexpected outage event or malicious attack. Because we were the first, we’ve been able to stay ahead of the curve and deliver on increasing customers’ pain points like compliance needs, ransomware-proofing and cost efficiency.”

“Now our customers understand that diversification — not putting all of their eggs in one basket — is no longer an option, but an inevitability. One of our main focuses has evolved into Multicloud, what we see as the future of cloud backup. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ you are in Multicloud. It’s ‘when’. And providing hands-free management and cost-effective solutions is what we’ve done and what we will continue to do.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals? Maimoni concluded:

“Watching out into the horizon is very exciting because so many enterprises are ready with open arms, waiting to take on management simplification and stay ahead of the threats coming their way. We will continue to empower our customers with cutting-edge solutions. We have some super exciting cross-cloud capabilities planned, offering even greater flexibility and resilience to meet diverse recovery and backup needs. We’re also heavily investing in container-based solutions, aligning with the growing demand for modern application architectures.”

“In addition, we know retention periods are getting longer and global compliance demands are getting stricter—so we’re focused on enhancing our cost-optimization features and becoming an even more trusted partner in storage cost management.”

“Nothing is forever in IT; every day presents new challenges – and that’s what makes it exciting. We’re ready to embrace those challenges head-on and help our customers navigate whatever comes next.”
