Nadia Care: $12 Million Raised To Expand Maternal Health Platform Across The U.S.

Nadia Care, a Washington, DC-based maternal health company formerly known as Cayaba Care, announced a $12 million funding round to expand its community-centered care model nationwide.

The round was led by Valtruis and a major national payer, with participation from First Trust Capital Partners and RH Capital. The funding will support the company’s continued expansion, particularly in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Tennessee, and will build on its partnerships with regional Medicaid plans.

Led by CEO Adaeze Enekwechi, Nadia Care delivers a hybrid model that combines in-home, community-centered care with virtual support. Its care teams include Maternity Navigators, registered nurses, doulas, and multidisciplinary specialists who work alongside existing healthcare providers to offer care coordination, benefits navigation, lactation support, nutrition counseling, and education for expectant and new mothers.

The company is focused on addressing gaps in maternal healthcare access in the U.S., particularly among underserved populations. By integrating community-based support with technology-enabled services, Nadia Care aims to improve outcomes while reducing overall healthcare costs.

To date, the company has supported approximately 4,000 members, reporting improved outcomes including a 60 percent reduction in NICU days, a 47 percent reduction in low birth weight rates, a 38 percent decrease in preterm births, and a 25 percent reduction in emergency room visits. The new funding will enable Nadia Care to scale these services and reach more families nationwide.

KEY QUOTES:

“Everyone deserves support during pregnancy and beyond, and in our existing healthcare system, too few people get it,” said Adaeze Enekwechi, PhD, MPP, CEO of Nadia Care. “Nadia Care is on a mission to support mothers and families, and this investment, on the heels of our recent expansion and proven results, is a vote of confidence in our approach — a new kind of maternal care experience that is built on trust, empathy, and community.”

“Nadia Care is challenging the status quo of how maternal care is delivered, stepping in to fill a major gap for mothers and families with care directly from their communities,” said Anna Haghgooie, Managing Director at Valtruis. “When you pair that kind of connection with wraparound care and technology, you see improved health outcomes and lower total costs. We’re proud to support the Nadia Care team in this exciting next step of their journey.”
